Morning Talk: Dogs and Dawgs

Nov 30, 2015

Black Friday has apparently gone to the dogs.

Officials from LifeLine's Fulton County Animal Services shelter announced that an all time record number of adoptions were made on Black Friday.

At the Fulton shelter, 109 pets were adopted Friday. Kennel manager Myles Swain was reportedly in tears. So it seems while some Atlantans were fighting over flat screen HDTVs at Wal-Mart, others were busy clearing out kennels.

Lifeline was hosting free adoptions, sponsored by Zappos.com , on Black Friday and the fun continues today for Cyber Monday. All pets at all shelters can be adopted for free (a $250 value). Adopters are still screened and the pets comes with spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Visit any of the following locations:

• DeKalb County Animal Services, 845 Camp Road, Decatur

• Fulton County Animal Services, 860 Marietta Blvd

• LifeLine Dog House & Kitty Motel, 129 Lake Street, Avondale Estates

• LifeLine Cat Adoption Center, 3172 E. Ponce De Leon Ave., Scottdale

And speaking of dogs, everyone is talking about the end of the Richt era at UGA. Read our extensive coverage at MyAJC.com.
