Maybe rapper Lil Wayne said it best -- "get a gat, get a gat, get a gat."

Today is the last day to buy a ticket and support the students of Central Fellowship Christian Academy  in Macon during their second annual gun raffle.

Beginning in November, the school will give away 30 guns in 30 days to raffle winners with a valid ticket.

The school is raising money to fund projects for their sports complex. Last year, the same fundraiser brought in $20,000, school officials told WMAZ .

The actual exchange of firearms -- including background checks and other legal requirements -- is conducted through Chuck's Gun and Pawn Shop in Warner Robins.

Just $30 buys the chance to win one of 30 guns -- a range of pistols, shotguns or rifles -- with a different type of gun assigned to each day of the month.

But the raffle winners are on their own when it comes to actually acquiring the gun.

“It’s their responsibility to go to Chuck’s and pass a background check and they have to go through the legal steps to be able to get that gun,” said Athletic Director, Josh McClendon in an interview with WMAZ.  “The transaction is done at Chuck’s, we don’t have anything to do with the transaction.”

McClendon suggested that the event has been successful because people across Central Georgia care about the Second Amendment. They use guns for fishing, hunting and self-defense, he said.
