UPDATE: Friday, January 13: Just heard due to changes in the NFL playoff schedule, this "Dateline NBC" special has been pre-empted. I will update this when I get a new airdate.

"Dateline NBC" on Sunday will air a one-hour special about Justin Ross Harris, the Cobb County man recently convicted of intentionally leaving his 22-month-old son in a hot car to die. He was sentenced last month to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 32 years.

NBC News reporter Andrea Canning talks for the first time to Harris' cousin and his best friend, presumably two people who will provide a more sympathetic picture of Harris than the prosecution did.

The special titled "Unimaginable" airs on Sunday at 9 p.m.

Earlier this month, Harris launched his appeal, alleging that prejudicial testimony admitted by the court made it an "absolute impossibility" for him to receive a fair trial.
