There's a casting for the upcoming season of "The Bachelor" today from 5 to 9 p.m. at WSB-TV. Read more here.

"The Bachelor" flies the 11 bachelors and Andi Dorfman to the south of France to rev up the romance and help her narrow the pack down. In the end, she cut three guys instead of the expected one.

Clearly, Andi decided to wait for a truly romantic getaway to have some one-on-one time with Atlanta's own Josh Murray. It seems to go well.

"The connection is there and we're going in the right direction," he says.

"The physical chemistry we have is insane but Josh is the typical athlete type I've always dated and it hasn't worked out," she says.

They go on a lovely boat ride and sit by the Mediterranean Sea as he talks about his life as a minor-league baseball player. They then hang out at a glorious palace.

She wants deeper conversations with him. She has been burned by athletes before who cheated on her so she's hesitant getting close to Josh. But she can't help but feel the chemistry either.

"I've had my guard up with you and you are putting my guard down," she says. So he gets the rose. "This is the best date I've ever had," he effuses. "I am definitely on the path to falling in love with Andi."

If I were a betting man, I still think Josh is the one.

But there has to be other plot lines going on or this show would be 100% goop.

Don't talk! The group date involves miming to French folks. Marquel shows aptitude and is enjoying himself. Nick sulks. He wants to be alone with her. But she thinks he should just go with it. It's a freakin' TV show. Group dates are de rigeur! Get over it!

"It's hard for me to watch you on group dates," she says.

Some of the guys call Nick out for acting a bit high and mighty, that he has some sort of edge on Andi. "Arrogant" and "smug" are thrown around. Cody, who is "thankful" for being there, was mocked by Nick and he tells Andi.

She starts having doubts about him. "Am I being fooled by Nick?" she says. He tries a lame poem on her but she isn't 100% sure about him now. "Causing a ruckus in my mind," she says.

Is Andrew a racist? So Andrew supposedly uttered a comment to JJ during the first rose ceremony where he heard Andrew say, "She picked the two blackies?" JJ admits he may have heard it wrong and he merely had said black guys, which would be considerably less offensive (and depending on how he said it, merely an observation.) Marquel, the remaining black guy, was offended when he heard this so he confronts Andrew. Andrew denies it. "I've never said anything like that in my life," he says. Marquel accepts his denial and the conversation ends civilly. Andrew tells Andi a little bit about it and admits it makes him question whether he should even be here.

She then gives a special group date rose to JJ. Nick mopes.

Are things cooking for Brian? The basketball coach almost screwed up during the last episode by not kissing her when he had a chance and had to make up for it later. Now he gets his first one on one. He enjoy a romantic movie and samples gross sea urchins with her in a picturesque French market. But in the kitchen, he is deeply uncomfortable. Andi think she's being "standoffish... So timid and not what I was expecting. We could not be further apart." The dinner goes flat and the frog legs are flavorless. "He's not rising to the occasion," she says. So they go to a French restaurant and Brian warms up. "I"m going to give him a chance,"  she says. She gives him a rose. And he gives her a better kiss, which clinches the deal to keep him around for now.

Three more gone: She nixes the cocktail party and goes straight to the cuts themselves. Marquel, the last minority dude left, is out. She never seemed to really connect with him though he came across very likable. Andrew basically talked himself out of the competition earlier in the night, claiming he was "bullied." (JJ really targeted him, eh?) Patrick left almost zero impressions on anybody. Why was he surprised he was out?

Next week: Venice! Looks like Nick and Brian keep making progress, then we see Nick being all mopey again. Fun dude Cody finally gets some one on one time. There's a lie detector test and Andi thinks Josh may be hiding something from her (cos he's a jock?)
