Ever busy actor Samuel L. Jackson is back in Atlanta to shoot a new film "The Banker."

It also stars Anthony Mackie.

It's a drama set in the 1950s and 1960s based on a true story of two black Texas entrepreneurs, played by Jackson and Mackie, who hired a white front man for their real-estate empire while they pretended to play a chauffeur and janitor.
But of course, their ability to keep things totally concealed doesn't work forever. (You can read an Ebony story from 1965 about their ruse here.)

The film is using downtown Douglasville, Atlanta and Newnan for shoots, according to Backstage.

Jackson has previously been in town for the next “Shaft” film set to be released in 2019 and an uncredited appearance on “Avengers: Infinity War.”

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
