Four Atlanta-based Cumulus radio stations raised $255,000 for Children's Healthcare during its "Making Miracles Happen" radiothon.

Instead of having four stations doing four different broadcasts at once, Q100, Rock 100.5, NewsRadio 106.7 and Kicks 101.5 over 13 hours did shows in tandem in the cafeteria of the hospital.

The Bert Show, heard on Q100 and featuring Bert Weiss and Kristin Klingshirn, opened from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.. The Rock 100.5 morning show with Jason Bailey and "Southside" Steve Rickman handled the 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. hour. Rod Stadler and Fox 5 11 p.m. host Tom Haynes handled the NewsRadio 106.7 portion. Kicks' morning show Cadillac Jack and Dallas McCade closed out the day from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All went commercial free.

Cadillac, who has three kids, was especially emphatic during his plea for funds, noting that his own daughter was treated for burns at Children's Healthcare. He also loves that all the donations stay in Atlanta to treat patients at Children's Healthcare hospitals locally.

Stadler's debut on NewsRadio 106.7 coincided with the radiothon, which used to be on his previous employer's station Star 94.

The Bert Show raised about $100,000. The Rock 100.5 show pulled in another $25,000. NewsRadio did another $15,000 but in the stretch run, Kicks 101.5 listeners gave more than $115,000, helping finish up with $255,000.

As of 1 p.m., the radiothon has already raised more money than Star 94 alone did last year, when it pulled in $85,000 and the four-station combo easily beat Star's $147,000 in 2013.

NewsRadio simulcast the shows from the other stations on 106.7 throughout the day. So Michael Graham and the Kimmer got the day off.
