Phaedra Parks came on "The Steve Harvey Show" in an episode that aired today at 3 p.m. on Fox 5 to talk about life after Apollo's jailing, her mortician work and who supported her among the housewives.
Harvey asked what she was going through right after Apollo was placed in prison for eight years for bank and ID theft last fall.
"At at that time, I was very confused. I had so many emotions going on," she told Harvey. "Like many women, I had the ideal picture of an American dream. This was death of a dream. I thought someone I would have this incredible life with." She hoped she could maintain as much dignity through the process.
When Harvey asked what it's like off camera, she said it's been tough. "Reality isn't always real. You see a portion of our lives, a small snippet," she said. "This is not what I signed up for."
Porsha Williams and NeNe Leakes were the most supportive among the housewives, she said.
Harvey said he wasn't pleased when he heard Phaedra is now a licensed mortician. "I don't like talking to morticians," Harvey joked.
Phaedra's mom is a huge fan and came along to Chicago wearing her leather pants. She watches all his shows and proclaimed, "I love you Steve." He gave her a hug.

Investigation Discovery on Sunday will be spending an hour at 9 p.m. looking at mysterious disappearance of a Buford resident earlier this year.
On January 5,Kelly Nash vanished from the home he shared with his girlfriend Jessica Sexton
As the news spread, his family and friends formed an army of volunteers to mobilize a search across town. Since his cell phone, wallet, and car keys were left behind at home, tracking Nash’s moves was nearly impossible at first. Teaming with the Gwinnett County Police department and launching a widespread social media campaign, Kelly’s family and friends work tirelessly for weeks to find him.
But five weeks after Kelly's disappearance, a startling discovery was made just a few miles from home that changed the course of Kelly's case leaving the family with many unanswered questions.
It's called "Gone in Georgia: A Disappeared Special."

Moody's downgraded the debt for the Weather Co., based here in Atlanta. Why? As a stand-alone company (unlike Disney or Time Warner), it has less leverage with satellite or cable companies when negotiating carriage fees. That's why the company got into such an ugly carriage fee fight with DirecTV last year when DirecTV pulled the Weather Channel off its networks, saying it wasn't all that crucial anymore. The two sides ended up coming to a deal after three months. The Weather Co. is owned by a consortium of NBCUniversal, the Blackstone Group and Bain Capital. I heard from a good source that Blackstone pressured the Weather Co. to close the deal with DirecTV because Blackstone owns part of Hilton, which uses DirecTV. The Weather Co. even apologized for its verbal assault on DirecTV but not the other way around.

Atlanta gospel station Praise 102.5 was named major market gospel station of the year for the third year at the 30thAnnual Stellar Awards in Las Vegas last month. Program Director Derek Harper accepted the award.
Praise competed against stations in Chicago, Dallas and Philadelphia. The Stellar Awards enabled fans of stations to vote online. Hot 107.9 syndicated host Rickey Smiley was a co-host.
“When you have a great team, listeners that are passionate about what you do, and a lot of favor, the impossible becomes probable. It’s an honor to be recognized by your peers and fans of the radio station for the third year in a row," Harper said in a press release.
Praise's ratings are up this year over a year ago. In February, it had a 4.5 share (10th place), up from a 3.5 share (14th place) a year ago.
