Donald and Stephen Glover's upcoming animated "Marvel's Deadpool" series on FXX is now in production in Atlanta.

Both Glovers were also involved in the second season of FX's "Atlanta," which concluded production in Atlanta recently. (I was not able to make a set visit this season, unfortunately.)

Donald, a Stone Mountain native, was writing the series while shooting his Han Solo Star Wars film project last summer. He co wrote the second season of "Atlanta" last year before he began working on the "Star Wars" film in London.

FX CEO John Landgraf was more than accommodating to Donald's schedule:  "Working with talent, you don't want to squelch their [opportunities]," Landgraf said at TCA last summer. "You don't want to say don't do the 'Star Wars' movie and play the first African-American character in cinema who inspired you when you were young. You want to figure it out so we juggle people's schedules."

Deadpool is one of Marvel's most popular characters. The movie starring Ryan Reynolds became a huge hit, grossing $647 million worldwide and a sequel is now in the works.
