Maroon 5's 'Maps" is the played tune of the week in Atlanta, just edging out Magic!'s "Rude."
Both songs are played by the same four pop stations, with "Maps' heard 290 times vs. 287 times for "Rude," according to Mediabase 24/7 tracking. (The service does not include smaller FM translator stations such as X107.1, Streetz 94.5, Q100 at 97.9 and Nash Icon 98.9 or outlying stations in its calculations.)
For "Maps," it's 32 spins on B98.5, 47 on Star 94, 104 on Power and 102 on Q100.
For "Rude," it's 41 spins on B98.5, 46 on Star, 99 on Power and 101 on Q.
Charli XCX's "Boom Clap" is a close third with no help from B98.5. At No. 4 is former No. 1 "Stay With Me" by Sam Smith is starting to lose spins but is still heard on seven stations: the four pop stations, plus three R&B stations: Kiss, V-103 and Majic.
I foresee either Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" (No. 5) or Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" (No. 6) as future No. 1 songs though both will need help from B98.5, which is being oddly cautious adding either track.
