Mark Zinno is out at 92.9/The Game and here's why

Three sources with direct ties who knew about the story told me that Zinno aired a repeat of an earlier hour of his show at 2 a.m. after a playoff game last week without permission from the bosses. This was the pretext to drop him.

Zinno, who joined the station three years ago from Baltimore as evening host, has not acknowledged his departure on social media.

I have not heard from Terry Foxx, the Game's program director since the station launched in October, 2012. Then again, Foxx hasn't responded to any of my inquiries in seven months despite the fact the station hit its highest historic ratings earlier this year as the Atlanta Falcons competed for the Super Bowl championship.

Ratings have fallen back since then. In March, the station pulled in a 2.9 rating, down from a peak of 4.4 in January. Still, that's better than the 2.2 the station had in March, 2016.
