Kim Zolciak has hired a high-powered attorney and is demanding an apology from "Real Housewives of Atlanta" castmate NeNe Leakes for her social media tirades calling her daughter Brielle "racist trash."
Leakes was offended when Brielle posted a Snapchat video recently showing bugs in a Leakes bathroom in her home in Duluth.
Here's part of what Leakes wrote: "You had to stoop so low and be so disgusting #racisttrash #jealous #KKK #thirsty you better run yo a** back to a child's place #youwannaactgrown?"
She later called both Zolciak and her daughter racists.
TMZ obtained a letter the attorney Allison Hart sent to Leakes said Zolciak wants a specific apology on social media from Leakes or a lawsuit is coming. The letter also claims Leakes is jealous that Zolciak has a successful Bravo spinoff show "Don't Be Tardy."
If this is marketing for the upcoming season of "Real Housewives of Atlanta," it could be quite effective. The producers are probably pinching themselves over this controversy. The show returns November 5. Zolciak has returned to the show on a semi-regular basis after quitting several years ago. Leakes left season seven and is back full time this year.
Both are original castmates, along with Sheree Whitfield, who came back last season.
