Jeremy Powell, a long-time radio producer in town who was once nicknamed "Fat Kid" while at 99X, is moving from B98.5 to Kicks 101.5, executive producing the country station's long-time morning show led by Cadillac Jack and Dallas McCade.
To fill his place, pop station B98.5 is moving night jock Kara Leigh to mornings starting Monday. That morning show is hosted by Melissa Carter and Tad Lemire.
Powell worked as a producer at alternative rock station 99X from 2003 to 2006. He also helped produced Jimmy Baron's morning show on then rock station 92.9/Dave FM from 2011 to 2012. He had been with B98.5 since 2013.
Leigh is an Atlanta native and started her career with Cox Media Group as an intern. She has had many duties for the local radio group going back to 2004 and had been already doing on-air work for B98.5 since 2012. She began doing nights at B98.5 about a year ago.
Neither Kicks 101..5 program director Scott Lindy (who has worked at Star 94.1 and 94.9/The Bull) and B98.5 program director Chris Eagan returned texts seeking comment.
B98.5 and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution are both part of Cox Media Group.
