During Comic-Con, AMC released a five-minute trailer for the upcoming season of "The Walking Dead."
But before showrunner Scott Gimple introduced it, he gave a tribute to John Bernecker, the stuntman who died last week on set at Raleigh Studios in Senoia.
"We didn't know if we should do this panel today. But we wanted to be here for you and do something for John," Gimple said. "John was someone who was beloved in the stunt community. He was living his dream, and he helped other people do the same."
Robert Kirkman, "The Walking Dead" creator, said the war between Negan and Rick will be the obvious primary driving force of season eight.
"We have all kinds of great stuff planned. Our next season … will be very action-packed and very fast-paced. I counted six explosions in the trailer alone," Kirkman said.
