Fox medical drama “The Resident,” which shoots in metro Atlanta, has donated its masks, gloves and gowns to Grady Memorial Hospital to help address a shortage in critical medical supplies during the current pandemic.

Dr. Karen Law, a rheumatologist at Grady who is also affiliated with Emory, thanked the production for the donation on Instagram.

"We needed this kind of good news today," Law wrote. " @theresidentonfox are good citizens doing good deeds and not looking for a shout out. Though I encourage all to support The Resident and the great team behind the show and to pay their good deed forward any way you can."

"Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." . To the entire team @theresidentonfox, thank you for this incredibly generous donation of #PPE from your set, including gowns, masks, gloves, and all the things our healthcare workers need to provide safe care for our community during #COVID19. . Yesterday, I had a serious discussion with the residents about how, though supplies are low, a magical shipment of masks is unlikely to arrive. And yet, a magical shipment of masks DID arrive, in the form of this very generous gesture. This kind of community support means so much to our #frontlineproviders who are making many sacrifices to staff our hospitals and care for our community. . Thank you, @theresidentonfox and @foxtv for being helpers. We needed this kind of good news today. . PS: Sorry it's not a great pic, but the focus was not on the photo at the time. Similarly, the team @theresidentonfox are good citizens doing good deeds and not looking for a shout out. Though I encourage all to support The Resident and the great team behind the show and to pay their good deed forward any way you can. . #Hurstlife #residentlife #emoryIMresidents #lookforthehelpers #gratitude

The show, which was set to air 23 episodes in its third season, finished 20 episodes before production was abruptly suspended last week. It appears unlikely the final three episodes will be produced given the worsening situation with the coronavirus.

The 18th episode of “The Resident” aired on Tuesday, March 17 so two more original episodes are left. Counting a week of DVR usage, the show averages a respectable 6.5 to 7 million viewers a week.

The show’s soundstages are in Conyers in Rockdale County while some exterior and interior shots are done at the High Museum, which doubles as the fictional Chastain Park Memorial Hospital.

Notable stars include Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Morris Chestnut, Malcolm Jamal-Warner and Jane Leeves.

According to EW, ABC's "The Good Doctor" donated supplies n Vancouver and "Station 19" gave away some of its N95 masks to the City of Ontario Fire Dept.
