After losing Porsche Foxx recently, Steve Hegwood - owner of Mix 87.7 - found a new show to put in her place from Dallas: DeDe in the Morning in Mix 87.7, the R&B station.

DeDe Maguire, with her sidekicks Lady Jade and Michael Shawn, has been doing her show for eight years on KKDA/104.1, a hip-hop station in Dallas. She had previously co-hosted with Doug Banks, who was never in the Atlanta market.

"She's an excellent talent," said radio consultant Tony Gray. "She signed a deal with Compass Media Networks to do syndication in the past year. She has performed very well in Dallas. We'll see how she does in other markets."

She started in Atlanta last Wednesday, January 2.
How Compass describes the show: "It's a mix of the silly and the serious, with discussions ranging from news topics, hip-hop culture, and community events, to comedy bits like the 'Mad Minute,' in which listeners prank-call friends and relatives, stirring them up into bleeped-out frenzies."

Foxx, in a previous interview, said she's moving to another radio station but due to non-compete clauses, she wasn't ready to say when or with what station. Her likeliest home is Kiss 104.1, which has an opening since Sasha the Diva left.
