Fox 5 has been hunting for a replacement evening anchor since popular Cynné Simpson decided in August to leave the broadcast business for humanitarian work.

The St. Louis Post Dispatch reported that the local CBS affiliate KMOV-TV anchor Courtney Bryant will be leaving the station at the end of the year. Without citing the source, the paper also said she is "possibly Atlanta bound."

If that's the case, the only major evening anchor opening in Atlanta TV is Simpson's spot.
Bryant had been at KMOV for four years. She coincidentally filled the spot left behind by Sharon Reed, who left St. Louis for CBS46 in 2015. Reed departed CBS46 in May.

Reed was hired by CBS46 general manager Mark Pimental, who had left KMOV in 2014 for CBS46 and was let go early from CBS46 last year.

Bryant grew up in Los Angeles and graduated Pepperdine University, according to her website bio. Before St. Louis, she worked at a station in Bakersfield, Calif.

A Fox 5 spokeswoman hasn’t yet responded to an email requesting comment.
