Last night on CNN, Anderson Cooper took a break from focusing so much on the alleged Orlando killer by poignantly reading the names of the victims of the nightclub massacre.

“In the next two hours we want to try to keep the focus where we think it belongs, on the people whose lives were cut short,” Cooper said. He noted that his show would not name or show a photo of the gunman.

After reading the names over six minutes, he started to get visibly emotional: “They are more than a list of names. They are people who loved and who were loved. We think it’s important that you hear their names."
