Brandon Rudat, former CBS Atlanta morning host for three years,  has landed a new job in Phoenix.

He will be working at an independent station KTVK as a reporter and 4:30 p.m. anchor. He starts Jan. 29, according to TVSpy.

Rudat worked as a host on CBS Atlanta's "Better Mornings" from 2010 until he was let go in July of 2013. His tattoos and free-wheeling spirit marked him as different from your typical anchor.

He left Atlanta Sunday and arrived in Phoenix yesterday, according to his public Facebook page.

In Phoenix, he is going to go by Brandon Lee, his adopted father's last name.

In a text, he said he isn't doing interviews but he posted this on his Facebook page yesterday:

I am humbled and grateful to join this wonderful team of journalists.

Follow me on twitter: @BrandonLeeNews too!

I want to say thank you to all the wonderful people in Atlanta who have supported me with words of encouragement these past few months. I have read every message, and they have lifted my spirits each and every time. So, thank you. God Bless, and we will all keep in touch right here on FB!

The Emmy-winning journalist is also a motivational speaker and fine art artist. He has also worked in Hartford, Boston and Los Angeles. Project Q dubbed him a "news hunk."
