Benzino, who was part of the cast of "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" its first three seasons, was arrested Tuesday for having a loaded gun in his carry-on bag at Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.

He told the Associated Press that it was "an unfortunate and honest mistake."

Benzino, who runs Hip Hop Weekly and once led The Source magazine, said the gun is registered to him but he didn't have a license to carry it so he was arrested. He was charged with carrying a gun in an unauthorized location and released on $3,000 bail. His real name is Raymond Scott.

He and his fiance Althea Eaton were let go from "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" last fall.

He was shot in the arm last year by a nephew but has since recovered.
