Atlanta-based "Constantine," the new NBC series based on the D.C. comic-book series, will ends its freshman run after 13 episodes this season but NBC is not killing it, according to Deadline.com.

The network said the demon hunter drama starring Matt Ryan (no the Falcons quarterback) is still in consideration for a second season. Although the show started slow out of the gate on Friday nights, it has shown encouraging ratings growth and DVR-shifted usage.

NBC informed the cast this past Friday that production in Atlanta will halt once 13 episodes are finished.

Two other new D.C.-based comic-book series have done well this season: Fox's "Gotham" and the CW's "Flash."
