FX is giving the critically acclaimed “Atlanta” a fourth season.

Creator and Stone Mountain native Donald Glover has been so busy, he hasn't been able to set aside time to write and produce the show since 2017. Season two aired in the spring of 2018.

The third and fourth seasons will be shot concurrently in metro Atlanta during the spring of 2020 so it will be more than two years between seasons.

The first season aired in the fall of 2016.

“Atlanta” to date has pocketed five Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, two AFI awards, a Peabody, PGA, WGA, TCA, NAACP and Critics’ Choice Awards.

"This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners," said Eric Schrier, FX president.
