CNN's pick up of Anthony Bourdain was a smart move ratings wise and the show itself takes home a Peabody as well.

CNN author and travel enthusiast Anthony Bourdain is embarking on a live theater tour that comes to the Fabulous Fox Theatre July 11.

The press release describes his "Close to the Bone" tour as "an unyielding, brutally honest monologue reflecting on diverse culture, street cuisine and his travels to lesser-known locations around the world, followed by an open Q&A session."

Bourdain has aired four seasons of his popular CNN Emmy-winning travelogue show "Parts Unknown" and is working on his fifth, which debuts April 26 at 9 p.m. His previous show on the Travel Channel "No Reservations" aired from 2005 to 2012.

“I want to open the book on what I’ve learned seeking the road UN-traveled – more than I get to show you on television,” Bourdain said in the press release.

Ticket prices range from $55.50 to $85.50 (before fees) and will go on sale Friday, April 17 at 10 a.m. at www.FoxTheatre.org, by calling 855-285-8499, or at the Fox Theatre ticket office.

VIP tickets will be available for $250.50, which includes premiere seating, a limited edition tour poster and VIP laminate, plus exclusive access to a post-show meet-and-greet reception featuring complimentary hors d'oeuvres and photo and signing opportunities with Bourdain.
