Bert Weiss of the Bert Show on Q100 has had an awful year by most measures.

His father Fred died. His dog Riggins got attacked by two strays. He is divorcing his wife Stacey of 18 years. He had an appendectomy. And Jeff Dauler threw him for a loop by jumping ship for a rival station.

So with just over two weeks left in 2015, over the weekend, he played basketball with one of his sons, hit a curb and broke his left foot, he reported this morning on the Bert Show, heard in 17 markets including Q100 in Atlanta.

"I'm in an air cast today," Weiss said. "I've had to laugh about it."

He looked on the bright side: the cast gave him two extra inches in height.

"Hoping the universe knows that January 1st is a reset day," he texted me this morning.

His producer Tommy Owen, whose father has lung cancer and a brain tumor, decided to write a sad country song encapsulating the year, which included the entire team's woes. Tommy modestly calls it "epic," titling it "Suck it 2015." (Social media director Cassie Young broke up with her boyfriend of eight years. Kristin Klingshirn generally escaped bad news relatively speaking - unless you count jury duty.)
