While his Outkast partner Big Boi prepares for the biggest performance of his career at the Super Bowl halftime show, Andre 3000 is sticking to his desire to follow paths other than music.

Billed under his real name of Andre Benjamin, the Atlanta rapper/actor is starring with Robert Pattinson in the sci-fi mystery-thriller “High Life,” due in theaters this spring.

In a trailer for the film, Benjamin makes a couple of brief appearances as a death row inmate whose sentence seems to be “to serve science.”

“High Life” premiered last year at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be released April 12.

Big Boi and Andre 3000 reunite frequently as friends, including last year at the Woodward Academy graduation ceremony of Big Boi’s son, Andre “Bamboo” Patton II and at an Atlanta screening of the USA Network’s “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.”

Both artists have frequently reiterated that another Outkast reunion is extremely unlikely, but some fans are still hoping Andre 3000 might change his mind on Feb. 3.
