Usher didn't head back from L.A. with an armload of Grammys -- he, along with several other marquee musical acts, was shut out -- but the Atlanta R&B smoothie's performance of a Stevie Wonder classic was an undeniable highlight of the show.

It wasn't Usher's only surprise rendition of a song.

Two nights before the Grammys, Usher and his cohort on "The Voice," Blake Shelton, headlined the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’ 90th Anniversary Celebration at AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

During the show, the pair teamed up for a rendition of "Home," the 2005 Michael Bublé hit that Shelton sent to No. 1 on the country charts in 2008.

But it was Usher's recast of Shelton's toe-tapper "Neon Light' as a soul ballad that showcased his impeccable singing chops. A cheeky Usher asks, "How'd I do?" at the song's end before gliding around in a circle.
