The Variety Playhouse may be changing hands.

Stomp and Stammer, the monthly music periodical (and website) is tweeting that the deal went through.

Earlier this month, led by a tip from S&S, we chatted with owner Steve Harris, who said he was considering selling the Little Five Points landmark to Agon Sports and Entertainment, a holding company that also owns the Georgia Theatre in Athens and two minor league baseball teams.

The music publication says Agon will take ownership Nov. 1.

The Variety Playhouse was a defunct movie theater 25 years ago when Harris leased the building and turned it into one of the most popular music venues in the city.
