The B-52s are celebrating their 40th anniversary with not one, but two shows at Atlanta Symphony Hall this fall.

The band, which burst out of Athens in the late-‘70s with the eternally weird “Rock Lobster,” has nearly sold out its Sept. 15 concert at the venue, so a second date has been added for 8 p.m. Sept. 14.

Those tickets are $49.50-$125.50 and will go on sale at noon May 19 at www.ticketmaster.com, the Woodruff Arts Center box office and by calling 1-800-745-3000.

“The World’s Greatest Party Band” will perform both shows with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. And, considering the band is commemorating a milestone, expect to hear a career-spanning set list sure to include “Private Idaho,” “Love Shack,” “Roam” and songs from their 2008 album, “Funplex.”
