Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur first met at a wrap party for "Poetic Justice," the 1993 movie starring Pac and Janet Jackson.

The two became friends, Shakur joined Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre on Death Row Records and an alliance was formed.

Next month, Snoop will induct the late rapper into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the ceremony in Brooklyn. Tupac will be the first solo hip-hop artist inducted into the Cleveland institution.

A TMZ report intimated that Snoop Dogg would be joined by Dr. Dre for a three-song musical tribute, including “California Love,” but that has not been confirmed.

This year's Rock Hall class also includes Pearl Jam, Yes, Joan Baez, Journey and Electric Light Orchestra. The ceremony will take place April 7 and, as in years past, air at a later date on HBO.
