The incomparable Sharon Jones is prepping for a notable fall season.

The documentary "Miss Sharon Jones!" (complete with expert use of the exclamation point) will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 11. The film is directed by Oscar-winner Barbara Kopple (The Dixie Chicks' "Shut Up and Sing," as well as "My Generation," "Harlan County, USA," "American Dream" and more) and will focus on Jones' determined fight against pancreatic cancer – first diagnosed as bile duct cancer – in 2013.

Earlier this year, we sat down with Jones in her native Augusta to discuss her first Grammy nomination (she lost to Toni Braxton and Babyface) and how she dealt with the severe illness.

On Oct.30, Jones and The Dap-Kings will release their first-ever holiday album, "It's a Holiday Soul Party." The album contains 11 tracks of new ("Ain't No Chimneys in the Projects) and traditional ("White Christmas") songs. Fans who pre-order the release on iTunes will receive free downloads of "Chimneys" and another new song, "Big Bulbs."

Here is the track listing for the album.

  1. "8 Days (Of Hanukkah)" 2. "Ain't No Chimneys in the Projects" 3. "White Christmas" 4. "Just Another Christmas Song" 5. "Silent Night" 6. "Big Bulbs" 7. "Please Come Home For Christmas" 8. "Funky Little Drummer Boy" 9. "Silver Bells" 10. "World Of Love" 11. "God Rest Ye Merry Gents"
