When Missy Elliott appeared on the Super Bowl halftime show with Katy Perry this year, we figured it was a matter of time before a full-fledged Elliott comeback was in effect.

That time has arrived.

The slenderized pioneer rapper from Virginia dropped “WTF (Where They From)” today, a frisky jam injected with her trademark wit, as well as percussive elements and a nifty feature from Pharrell Williams, who produced the track with Elliott.

The song is available now to purchase:  http://smarturl.it/WTFdownload  and stream :http://smarturl.it/WTFstream.

Although Elliott hasn’t released a new album since 2005’s “The Cookbook,” she’s stayed busy on tracks with Ciara, Demi Lovato, The Black Keys, Ginuwine, K. Michelle Perry and Janet Jackson’s current “BurnItUp!”

Check out the video for “WTF (Where They From),” which is directed by Elliott’s longtime collaborator Dave Meyers (“Work It,” “We Run This”). The clip features some groovy glow-in-the-dark lipstick and marionettes of Elliott and Williams. Oh, and some language, too.
