This year’s Record Store Day will have a hometown ambassador: Run the Jewels.

The rap duo of Atlanta’s Killer Mike and Brooklyn’s El-P have been chosen to promote the April 21 music holiday dedicated to celebrating independent record stores.

During the past decade, Record Store Day ambassadors have included Metallica, Dave Grohl, Iggy Pop, Ozzy Osbourne and Chuck D.

Run the Jewels has a history with Record Store Day; in 2015 they released a special 12-inch recording and last year, unveiled unique offerings to commemorate the day.

In a video announcing their ambassador-ship, El-P and Killer Mike noted that they will release a “collector’s box” and a series of remixes on April 21.

In Georgia, nearly 40 local record stores will participate in Record Store Day activities, including Beatlab, Criminal Records, Fantasyland Records, Moods Music/Little 5 Soul and Wax ‘n’ Facts in Atlanta.
