So much for the thought that U2 might announce its 2015 tour plans during its residency with Jimmy Fallon this week.

The band has postponed its planned week of appearances on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" following a cycling accident by Bono in Central Park. The injury is apparently severe enough that it will require surgery, according to a posting signed by band members the Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. on U2.com .

There is no word yet when the band might reschedule.

This would have been a momentous reunion for Fallon and U2; the Irish rockers were his first musical guest when Fallon’s late-night talker launched in February.
