A decade ago, the Eagles played what became the last of the storied Green Concerts at Piedmont Park.

For years, the Piedmont Park Conservancy tapped a major artist – The Allman Brothers Band with Dave Matthews Band, Paul McCartney – for a concert to raise funds to preserve the Atlanta park.

And this year the Green Concert returns with a two-night stand from jam rockers Phish.

The band will perform at Piedmont Park at 7 p.m. Aug. 1 and 6 p.m. Aug. 2. A ticket request period is currently taking place at tickets.phish.com and will end at noon Feb. 3. Green Concert 2020 tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 7 via www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are $75-$250.

The Piedmont Conservancy, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, is producing the concert in conjunction with Rival Entertainment. The nonprofit manages more than 90 percent of the maintenance and security of Piedmont Park.

As with past Green Concerts, sustainability will be top of mind. Concertgoers will be urged to use public transportation and be mindful of recycling programs and waste reduction.
