High on my list of acts to see this month was Howard Jones, who performed Sunday night at Variety Playhouse.

We had a lovely chat a couple of weeks ago to preview his performance here, but I hadn't seen him since that late-'90s tour with Culture Club ( and oddly enough, they just played Atlanta last week ).

Anyway, thanks to a pokey return flight from Philadelphia, I didn't arrive in Atlanta in time to get to the Variety to catch his set, although my colleague Rodney Ho attended and said Jones sounded great and somehow wrangled an hour and 45 minute concert out of 13 songs (14 if you count the techno reprise of "Things Can Only Get Better" at the show's end).

Photographer Chuck Holloway was also there to document the evening, so check out his visual diary.
