R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills, violinist Robert McDuffie and Rolling Stones keyboardist/musical director Chuck Leavell will team for a short fall tour dubbed, “A Night of Georgia Music.”

The show will feature symphonic versions of songs (no vocals) from Georgia mainstays including The Allman Brothers Band, Ray Charles, Outkast, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Otis Redding, James Brown, and, of course, R.E.M. The musical offerings will also feature the Mills-composed Concerto for Violin, Rock Band and String Orchestra, which he will perform with McDuffie.

“A Night of Georgia Music” will hit Atlanta Symphony Hall on Sept. 29. Tickets, priced at $39-$129, will go on sale at noon June 21 via www.ticketmaster.com and by calling 1-800-745-3000.

The tour will also play Washington D.C., Nashville, Birmingham, Ala., and, on Oct. 5, at the Miller Theater in Augusta.
