Jennifer Lopez and Lin-Manuel Miranda had a special Fourth of July treat for fans – a sneak peek at their collaborative tribute, “Love Make the World Go Round.”
The song, which doesn’t have a release date but will be available on iTunes eventually, is in honor of the victims of the Orlando Pulse nightclub shooting. Proceeds from “Love” will benefit the Hispanic Federation’s Proyecto Somos Orlando.
Somos Orlando "will address the long-term needs for mental health services that are culturally competent and bilingual" for victims and families of the victims of the Orlando shooting, according to the Hispanic Federation's website. "Proyecto will enable care to be delivered to those affected directly in the communities in which they live. Beyond emergency assistance, they will be provided with case management, crisis intervention, and mental health services, among other needs."
Miranda will depart his Broadway game-changer "Hamilton" this week. At last month's Tony Awards , which took place hours after the massacre, Miranda intertwined his show and the tragic Orlando event with a stirring speech that included the sign off, "Love is love is love is love is love is love is love is love cannot be killed or swept aside…now fill the world with music, love and pride."
On Monday, both Miranda and Lopez tweeted a behind-the-scenes preview clip of their collaboration on the song.
