A musical gathering of The Glenn Phillips Band featuring Cindy Wilson of The B-52s, Robert Schneider of The Apples in Stereo, The Swimming Pool Q’s, Starboarders, Possum Kingdom Ramblers and Bill Sheffield will convene this weekend for the sake of change.

The all-day – and free – music event ChangeFest will take place from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Midtown (731 Peachtree St., Atlanta).

In between band performances, the Beer & Hymns gospel sing-along, which takes place monthly at Smith’s Olde Bar, will provide fans with another outlet to raise their glasses and voices.

Since the purpose of the event is to promote change for the better, an array of organizations specializing in social change – including homeless shelters for women and children and those bringing clean water to villages in Ethiopia – will be on site to discuss their causes.
