The tributes to Cream bassist Jack Bruce continue to pour in, but the most touching is, naturally, from Eric Clapton.

"He was a great musician and composer, and a tremendous inspiration to me," Clapton said on his Facebook page.

He also posted an instrumental track in honor of Bruce, simply titled "For Jack.” The two-and-a-half minute song finds Clapton strumming his acoustic guitar and humming along in a sweet tone.

Cream drummer Ginger Baker also said in a statement that was posted by his official fan club, "I am very sad to learn of the loss of a fine man, Jack Bruce... My thoughts & wishes are with his family at this difficult time."

Baker, Clapton and Bruce founded the pioneering rock power trio Cream in 1966.

In March, Bruce released "Silver Rails," his 14th, and now final, studio album.

Bruce died Saturday at the age of 71, reportedly from liver disease.
