The Atlanta Hawks continue to elevate the game experience with the help of homegrown stars.
Grammy-nominated rapper – and College Park native – 2 Chainz will liven up the March 27 Hawks-Heat game with three performances throughout the night.
2 Chainz (aka Tauheed Epps) will steer a pregame special, including a special version of player introductions with Hawks PA announcer Ryan Cameron. The creator of hits including “Mercy” and “No Lie” will also perform during halftime and then present a post-game concert.
Additionally, when doors to Philips Arena open at 6 p.m., the first 5,000 fans to arrive will be given copies of his new mixtape, “T.R.U. Jack City.” Attendees can also purchase 2 Chainz-inspired Hawks gear from the Hawks Shop inside the arena.
“As an Atlantan, I’m excited to collaborate with my beloved Hawks on March 27 as they face off against the Miami Heat,” 2 Chainz said in a statement. “The Hawks have been ‘TRU to Atlanta’ this season so it's only right that we come out to support.”
Tipoff for is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
2 Chainz, who earlier this year expressed his desire to run for mayor of College Park , is the second Atlanta hip-hop star to collaborate with the Hawks.
T.I. helped kick off the team's stellar season with a performance at the home opener on Nov. 1.
