Cee Lo Green has been on the down-low since sending a series of controversial tweets late last summer following his no-contest plea for slipping a woman Ecstasy without her consent.

Though Green apologized for the inappropriate comments he made about rape, it was one of those career-damaging incidents that was best handled by slinking out of the public eye for a while.

Apparently, though, according to Billboard , Green, who is based in Atlanta part-time, has been working on a new album called "Heart Blanche" that he intends to release toward the end of the year.

Atlantic Records CEO/co-chairman Craig Kallman told Billboard, “We've got a big, big list of songs that we've been going through, and we're kind of mixing the final songs now. We're going to be imminently figuring out his marketing plan and single release schedule, and we're looking at the fourth quarter [for release]."

According to Kallman, Mark Ronson, Charlie Puth and Eg White are among the dozen or so collaborators who worked with Green on the album.

For a couple of years, Green was a ubiquitous presence. He served as an original judge on NBC's "The Voice" for four seasons (he left in 2014); he and Atlanta's Goodie Mob crew reunited for the snappy album, "Age Against the Machine," which failed to gain any traction; and last summer, TBS aired the reality show, "Cee Lo Green's The Good Life." Some reports say it was canceled following the Twitter fiasco, while others claim it was going to be canceled regardless.
