Brantley Gilbert is going to be a father.

The country singer, a native of Jefferson, Ga., and wife Amber will welcome their first child in November.

Gilbert told People magazine that the pregnancy was a surprise since the couple has tried to conceive since getting married in June 2015. Visits to fertility specialists proved frustrating, and Amber was hesitant about starting in vitro fertilization.

“I’m not much of a quitter, but I was really, really frustrated,” Gilbert told the magazine.

Amber surprised him with the pregnancy news during a tour stop in February.

Gilbert, 32, lives a few miles outside of his hometown in Maysville, and plans to stay there with his family.

The singer behind the hits “Bottoms Up” and “One Hell of an Amen,” will also celebrate five years of sobriety on Dec. 18.

“I got a long way away from the things that I was raised to prioritize: being a husband and a good father. Coming back to that and this happening, especially unexpectedly … My heart just feels full,” he told People.

Gilbert released his fourth studio album, "The Devil Don't Sleep," in January and has extended the ensuing tour deep into summer. He'll perform at Verizon Amphitheatre in Alpharetta on July 8 with Tyler Farr and Luke Combs.
