Big Boi will kick off the Chastain season in his typically big way with the inaugural “Kryptonite Festival.”

The event will feature the Outkast icon, as well as Goodie Mob, Earthgang, Kneel ‘N Rey and others.

Big Boi's musical gathering will take place at Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park on April 18. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 6 via www.livenation.com (this is a non-cooler performance, so no outside food or drink is permitted).

The name of the festival comes from the 2006 hit, “Kryptonite (I’m On It),” from the Purple Ribbon All-Stars, the hip-hop supergroup comprised of Big Boi, Killer Mike, Sleepy Brown and others.

The ever-busy Big Boi recently collaborated with Brown for “Intentions” (featuring CeeLo Green), the first track from their upcoming debut album, “Big Sleepover.”

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
