FRIDAY

Kansas

The stalwart rockers behind “Dust in the Wind” and “Play the Game Tonight” have deep roots in Atlanta, so this tour stop will be treated as a homecoming of sorts. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of its “Point of Know Return Album,” the band will play the album in its entirety and fill the set out with other hits. Carry on, wayward sons.

7:30 p.m. Sept. 28. $42-$122. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

Drive-By Truckers

In a recent interview with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, DBT co-founder Patterson Hood discussed the political elements of its most recent album, 2016's "American Band." It's the best-selling effort in the band's history and has kept them on the road long enough for Hood to determine, "We're actually kind of good right now. The touring behind 'American Band' has been pretty fantastic. Our lineup is killer. And we all actually like each other."

With Adam’s House Cat. 8 p.m. Sept. 28-29. $35. Variety Playhouse, 1099 Euclid Ave. NE, Atlanta. 1-877-987-6487, ticketfly.com.

SATURDAY

Michelle Malone

The singer-guitarist-songwriter further cemented her standing as the butt-kicking soul-rock-blues queen of Atlanta with her current album, “Slings and Arrows.” If you haven’t felt the visceral kick of Malone’s music live, well, you have two chances this weekend.

7 and 9:15 p.m. Sept. 29. $24-$28. Eddie’s Attic, 515-B N. McDonough St., Decatur. 1-877-987-6487, eddiesattic.com.

Frankie Valli

He’s 84 years old, but who can blame the leader of the Four Seasons for absorbing as much fanfare as he can after the massive career injection from the Tony-winning musical, “Jersey Boys”? The popularity of 1960s ditties “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man” and “Sherry” endures — as does Valli.

8 p.m. Sept. 29. $86.25-$108.40. Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

MONDAY

Troye Sivan

The young singer, a native of South Africa who grew up in Australia, continues to earn kudos. His second album, “Bloom,” boasts the hits “My My My!” and “Dance to This” — a promising follow-up to his breakthrough single, “Youth.”

With Kim Petras and Leland. 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1. $42.50. Coca-Cola Roxy, 800 Battery Ave. SE, Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, livenation.com.

TUESDAY

David Byrne

Only five months after storming the Shaky Knees Music Festival, the former Talking Heads leader returns with another round of live support for his "American Utopia" album. As with that performance, he'll be joined by a 12-piece band for a show he calls the "most ambitious" he's done since the "Stop Making Sense" concerts were filmed in 1984.

With Tune-Yards. 8 p.m. Oct. 2. $45-$175. Fox Theatre, 660 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta. 1-855-285-8499, foxtheatre.org.
