Last summer, the astute songwriter/humorist released the political satire song, “I Had a Dream,” which imagined a Donald Trump presidency and was complemented by a Judd Apatow-produced video. It is very, very likely that the father of Rufus, Martha and Lucy Wainwright will perform it this weekend.

V-103 “Pop Up Live”
The radio station that brought its second Winterfest concert to Philips Arena for the holidays with a starry hip-hop lineup including Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz is staging a “Pop Up Live” concert featuring Rick Ross, Big Boi, T.I., Meek Mill and Plies. Considering that Usher and Wale made surprise guest appearances at Winterfest, it’s a safe guess that this show will have some unexpected names as well.

Fans of the alt-rock veterans thrilled at the news of the band’s 2015 release, “Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not,” since it marked yet more new music from the band that had recorded only three full albums during its initial 1980s run. The original lineup of J. Mascis, Lou Barlow and Murph has remained intact for more than a decade since reuniting and they are still proudly shredding it live.

We the Kings
It’s been 10 years since the quintet from Bradenton, Fla., first broke through with the power pop single, “Check Yes Juliet.” To celebrate their decade anniversary, the band will play that self-titled debut album in its entirety. And you’ll also likely hear their sweet version of “The Story of Tonight,” from the “Hamilton” soundtrack. The guys released the compilation album, “So Far,” last summer.

Los Lobos
The new recipients of the BMI Icon Award — presented to songwriters who have had an influence on generations of music makers — released the album “Gates of Gold” in 2015. While casual observers know them best for their 1987 crossover cover of Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba,” the Tex-Mex rockers from East Los Angeles have been churning out reliable Latin roots rock since the mid-‘70s.
