FRIDAY

Dale Watson

The Texas honky-tonk legend spent plenty of time in Atlanta in 2012 when he starred in “The Ghost Brothers of Darkland County” at the Alliance Theatre and used his free time performing, including a weekly gig at Smith’s. Watson still plays about 300 shows a year with his Lone Stars band, unleashing his self-proclaimed “Ameripolitan” brand of music — which is basically just really good stuff that complements beer-swigging.

With JD Wilkes and the Dirt Daubers. 8 p.m. Feb. 6. $20 (advance), $25 (day of show) and $100 (VIP tables). Smith's Olde Bar, 1578 Piedmont Ave. N.E., Atlanta. 1-877-725-8849, smithsoldebar.com.

SATURDAY

Evan Dando

As the frontman for the Lemonheads, Dando was responsible for some of the most memorably poppy alt-rock of the ’90s. The band’s fifth album, 1992’s “It’s a Shame About Ray,” thrust them into a more mainstream spotlight thanks to their zippy cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson.” The follow-up album, “Come On Feel the Lemonheads,” kept Dando and the band on the charts with the rock hit “Into Your Arms.” Dando has long worked with other like-minded artists, such as Juliana Hatfield and Ben Kweller, and has performed solo for more than a decade.

With Sara Johnston. 9 p.m. Feb. 7. $13 (advance) and $15 (day of show). The Earl, 488 Flat Shoals Ave. S.E., Atlanta. 1-877-725-8849, ticketalternative.com.

SUNDAY

Jamie Cullum

The best-selling jazz artist in U.K. history released his new album, “Interlude,” last month, a few days before kicking off his 2015 tour. Cullum recently gained exposure to a massive amount of pop-rock fans when Billy Joel picked him to open a series of his residency dates at Madison Square Garden. But Cullum’s own shows will find him backed by a big band, as he shares his jazzy take on classics from the American songbook.

7:30 p.m. Feb. 8. $36-$46. Symphony Hall, 1280 Peachtree St. N.E., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

WEDNESDAY

George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic

There’s no doubt that Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic revolutionized funk. Last fall brought a new album, “First Ya Gotta Shake the Gate,” the band’s first in 33 years and a ginormous offering at three discs and 33 songs (yes, the symmetry is intentional). You might hear some of those new tunes in concert, but the band is still cranking out extended jams of “Atomic Dog,” “Flash Light” and “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucker).”

8 p.m. Feb. 11. $35. Variety Playhouse, 1099 Euclid Ave. N.E., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.

THURSDAY

Jessie J

Plenty of people already knew the soulful British pop singer from her 2011 hit “Price Tag” (featuring Atlanta’s B.o.B.) and “Domino.” But it took the high-wattage of current pop princess Ariana Grande to introduce Jessie J to a wider universe, thanks to their collaboration with Nicki Minaj on “Bang Bang.” Given that Jessie J’s recent hit “Burnin’ Up” features another Atlanta rapper — 2 Chainz — might we see some guest appearances at her show?

8 p.m. Feb. 12. Sold out. Center Stage, 1374 W. Peachtree St., Atlanta. 1-800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com.
