Atlanta's booming film industry is well represented in this year's crop of Golden Globe nominations announcement, with a number of big and small-screen projects earning a nod.
Who will go home with hardware this Sunday?
The locally filmed Netflix hit "Stranger Things" and its star Winona Ryder, the F/X show "Atlanta" its star Donald Glover, "Confirmation" star Kerry Washington and motion picture "Hidden Figures" and Octavia Spencer, who starred along with Janelle Monae and Taraji P. Henson in "Hidden Figures," were among the nominees announced by Don Cheadle, Laura Dern and Anna Kendrick.
Viola Davis and Denzel Washington picked up nominations for "Fences," which had an advance red-carpet screening in Atlanta recently.

The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Jimmy Fallon, will be broadcast on NBC on Jan. 8.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which awards the Globes, announced earlier that legendary actress Meryl Streep will received the 2017 Cecil B. DeMille Award. "Chosen by the HFPA Board of Directors, the Cecil B. DeMille Award is given annually to a talented individual who has made an incredible impact on the world of entertainment," the organization announced.
