After more than two years of marriage, Atlanta's own Usher and his wife have separated, according to an exclusive Us Weekly report.

The 39-year-old music superstar and spouse Grace Miguel issued a joint statement Tuesday to Us.

"After much thought and consideration we have mutually decided to separate as a couple,” Usher and Miguel said in the statement. “We remain deeply connected, loving friends who will continue supporting each other through the next phases of our lives. The enormous amount of love and respect that we have for each other will only increase as we move forward.”

The couple were quietly wed in September 2015, with Usher (full name: Usher Raymond IV) opening up, sort of, about it a few months later to TV host Ellen Degeneres. His previous marriage to Tameka Foster, had ended in divorce.

A source told Us Weekly the duo had actually been living apart for several months. Not that Usher, who attended North Springs High School and achieved musical fame after moving to Atlanta as a youth, has been missing from the social scene: In late January, he schmoozed with the stars of the Atlanta-filmed "Black Panther" at its glitzy Hollywood premiere.
