"I had this church built in my backyard," Perry posted. "It's almost a direct replica of the one my Mother grew up in. It was in her honor. I know she was with us in spirit. Thank you to all our family and friends for joining us."

Aman Tyler Bekele-Perry is Perry's son with girlfriend Gelila Bekele. The baby's godparents include Oprah Winfrey and Cicely Tyson.

The christening ceremony featured performances by Jennifer Hudson and Yolanda Adams.
