TMZ reported that Prince's "private plane made an unscheduled landing at Quad City International Airport in Moline just after 1 a.m. and that he "was immediately transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital."

By Friday evening, he was at home, having been treated and released, and had his Twitter trigger finger at the ready:

Controversial, indeed..

He wasn't done, tweeting this comical post - perhaps to put fans at ease:

Response was swift and heartfelt after word of Prince's medical situation, and the love Atlanta feels for him seems to be reciprocal. The entertainer had to postpone his performances after coming down with an illness (reportedly the flu) and it seems that his desire to put on a great pair of shows for Atlanta just left him drained.

TMZ cited a representative who said "wanted to make Thursday night's performance in Atlanta, even though he was still not feeling well." He started feeling worse after leaving Atlanta, hence the emergency landing and brief hospital stay.

Here's hoping Prince has a peaceful and restful weekend!
