Mama June and Sugar Bear to team up for charity event

"Honey Boo Boo" matriarch "Mama June" Shannon and her former love interest Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson are done romantically but will reunite in the interest of charity, the embattled former reality television personality said in a recent online post.

"We will ... (be) doing our annual Christmas fundraiser for the kids," Shannon said in a post to her public Facebook page. "If (you) would like donate again you can mail toys and donations to Wilco Luvs Kids at PO box 72 McIntyre Ga, 31054 ...we will announcing day (and) times next week toward the end of the week and Sugar Bear will be Santa again...."

Although TLC axed the show amid allegations that Shannon was dating a convicted child molester, she has maintained an active schedule of television appearances. If her goal is to rehabilitate her public image it's debatable how effective her candor has been.

"It's not like I am seeing him every day," she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight during which the host asked why on earth she would spend time with someone accused of molesting her daughter. During the same interview she revealed that a registered sex offender is the father of two of her kids.

She'll further discuss things with Dr. Phil on his show today, so stay tuned for more revelations.

In the meantime June has announced she has a small cameo in the locally filmed "Dumb and Dumber 2," which was of course completed well before any of these sordid details emerged. I haven't seen the movie yet so I'll need to find a screening to confirm that.
